Mohigan Sun Prepares Proposed S. Korea Casino Concept Agreement [games]
The U.S. Mohigan Tribal Game Agency announced that it wanted to venture into international territory and set up a casino in Korea, and the Tribal Game Agency called the Mohigan Line recently reported completing a concept contract for a mega casino resort it plans to build in Korea.
Mohigan Sun has joined hands with Korea's Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) to build a casino now called "Inspire Integrated Resort." The casino is expected to be built on 215,278 square meters, with 1,500 slot machines and 250 card tables. The tribe will only be able to proceed with the project if the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism grants a game license.
The Inspire Integrated Resort is expected to have more than 1,000 rooms across two luxury hotel tower complexes, with more than 60,700 square feet for art exhibition centers, music entertainment arena, Native American culture and arts experiences and Korean villages promoting Korean food and music. The resort is also expected to include a 20,000-seat amusement park and a special Korean cosmetics and beauty hub. The entire resort will be built on the site of Incheon International Airport, making it an ideal destination to attract tourists to the casino resort.
In a statement, Bobby Soffer, chairman of the Mohigan Sun Tribal Games Committee, said: "We are pleased to move on to the next phase of our proposed partnership with IIAC by concluding a conceptual agreement on Inspire. We are pleased to expand our unique Mohy Health Line brand with the support and cooperation of IIAC while we strive to develop a must-visit destination. We also look forward to playing a meaningful role in contributing to the nation's dynamic economy."
Once all permits are completed, the initial phase of the mega-project will bring about $1.6 billion in foreign direct investment to South Korea, and the completion of the project is expected to create about 24,000 jobs in the Korean market.
The Mohigan Line did not disclose the estimated cost of the entire project, but it is expected to spend about $320 million on entertainment stadiums, about $140 million on theme park plans, and about $35 million on civil aviation terminals. Mohigan expects to reach an agreement with South Korean government officials and submit a signed proposal for a 'scope of work' before the end .
